Innocence lost and maintained.

This is a playful satire on the classic...

THE CAT IN THE BLACK HAT

Oh me, Oh My said my friend
As the Cat walked by 'round the bend
"What's on his head" cried the crowd
Their awestruck faces abound
"Why it's a cat with a big fat brim
A landing strip for birds to fly in
"How cool"! cried the boy with the poodle,
As the rooster cheered "yay, cock-a-doodle"
Now all the lost birds I know
Have a really new hip place to go.
"But aren't they scared of the cat?", a concerned canary tweeted in the back
"Oh No"! replied the rooster on his feet
"That cat's a Vegan and he eats no meat!"
Nor eggs, dairy, nor gluten,
though sometimes he cheats on fig newton.
and a blessing he never misses. since he is a yeshiva cat and even does dishes.
He is kind to creatures large and small.
and loves to shop in the Kings Plaza Mall.
He's a kosher dude who used to love knishes
Now he meditates and fulfills all his wishes.
He learns torah with all of his friends
and stays in "shiur" all the way til the end
He used to tease all the timid little mice
The one word everyones uses is..he's "NICE!"
So listen to what his fashion statement sings
It is never too late to do the right thing.

I "miss" carry

I still think of you, I still dream of you
You're the girl I've never known
You were a baby, now you're grown?
And a woman who will never feel so frightened and alone.
You're the ache that stays inside, when the sleepiness subsides
You're the angel sleeping silent on a star up in the sky
Wish you were mine.

I'm so sorry you were sent back to the place you need to be.
That is selfish and unworthy of the mom I know you see.
I just wonder if you would be tall and regal or slender and petite
Intense and moody like your grandfather or like your brothers, brave and sweet.
Either way I know I'd give you everything  bad for you, even soda
But the love would stream endlessly, even if you'd look like yoda.

Sometimes I gaze up at a cloud and see the playful light of the sun reflecting on my windshield.
And I know it is you.

Destiny

I wonder when the time will come, when life means answering to no one
Letting go of guilt and shame, being proud of soul untamed
Free to do as I intend, no longer needing to pretend
A mission started long ago, will be completed this time I know

Destiny, you won't miss me. This time I'll meet you joyfully
Destiny, Please take me to the place I need to be

I'll never stop believing that destiny exists. An honesty that needs no proof
A guardian angel that can't be moved. I know it lies behind these walls, constructed by my fears and falls.
It costs a price to find yourself but through pain, you gain wisdom and wealth.
